Good Writing

Recently I just started reading The Happiness Project and after many depression days in college from family, track, and school it really helped me try to always look for the bright side of life.

Sometimes the lines are silly like this: “One of the best ways to make yourself happy is to make other people happy. One of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy yourself.” However, it made me want to continue reading due to the situation I am in.

Also I really liked this line, “When I find myself focusing overmuch on the anticipated future happiness of arriving at a certain goal, I remind myself to 'Enjoy now'. If I can enjoy the present, I don't need to count on the happiness that is (or isn't) waiting for me in the future".”

  1. This writing really speaks some powerfully true virtues. How many times do you work so hard to achieve something, something that will "guarantee" happiness, just to realize that it was the journey that you really enjoyed the most? Although working hard to improve your future is very important, it is most important to simply enjoy the present.
